4 . Maintain a bright outlook . Smiling and compliments are contagious . Share your smile with others and they will pass it along . Make sure when you receive a compliment , you smile and say thank you .
5 . Be deliberate and intentional . Lead with your heart . Say yes , when you want to do something and say no when you do not . Stop allowing others to guilt you into doing things . Do not do things out of obligation . Do what you want to do from your heart that feels good , right , and natural for you . Seek to serve others first , then to self .
6 . Forgive yourself . Realize God has forgiven you and he loves you . It is also okay to forgive yourself . Do yourself the favor of forgiving others , not because of who they are , but because of who you are .
7 . See the love , peace , and happiness all around you . It is in nature and its quiet moments . Find it in sharing a smile with a complete stranger , opening a door , or a warm greeting . Accept it and allow it to flow .
8 . Treat yourself – to a special gift , or outing occasionally . Allow yourself to enjoy a special meal , some pampering treatment , or a warm cup of tea or coffee while sitting in your favorite chair alone or with those that you love .
9 . Appreciate that you are not perfect , and the fact that no one is . Accept that you have made mistakes in the past and there are a few more in your future .
10 . Be deliberate about being happy RIGHT NOW ! This is not about waiting until that “ thing ” happens . Be happy anyway , while you wait !
