Secretarial Course commenced.

1981

Sacred Heart became a Regional College of the Archdiocese.

Mr Fabris' final year as Principal.

1982

25th Jubilee of the beginning of Sacred Heart Girls’ College in 1957.

Mr Thomas Kendell commenced as College Principal. Enrolments were at 685.

Chadstone Junior School fire, in which six classrooms, the library, administration and staff areas were destroyed. Junior School housed at Good Shepherd Convent, Chadstone.

Sister Aileen O’Loughlin, Provincial of the Congregation of Our Lady of the Missions, visited the College.

Ownership of the College passed from the Sisters to the Archdiocese of Melbourne.

Official opening of hall, library and Home Economics by Bishop Rev John A Kelly.

Enrolments reached 750.

Sr Theresa Parish's Golden Jubilee year. She was professed in 1934 and Principal of the College from 1969 – 1973.

1985

Amphitheatre build in Courtyard by parents, designed by Joe D’Onofrio

Courtyard paved by students in Year 11

Computer laboratory established

School song introduced and printed for the first time in the College Annual (Words and Music by V Cramer and D.D’ Monte)

Property on the corner of Latrobe and Kangaroo Rd purchased for $120,000. This is for additional recreational space.

Enrolments at 755.

Mr Kendall, teachers and students had an audience with Pope John Paul II while on the first College study tour.

1987

First colour photos of the College Annual.

Study tour to New Zealand.

Visits to schools conducted by the congregation of Our Lady of the Missions (RNDM).

1988

Bicentennial gift of a time capsule from Sacred Heart Girls’ College 1988 to the staff and students of 2038.

1989

A new red uniform introduced.

Visit by staff to east African mission.
