Motto – 'Semper Superne Nitens' means 'Always Striving Upwards'.

Crown – The crown symbolises a reward for excellence. It is mentioned several times in the New Testament as a reward for those who have persevered in doing right.

Laurel – In ancient Greece winners of athletic contests were given a laurel wreath in recognition of their victory. The leaves on our crest are symbolic of reward and victory too. St. Paul reminds us we should not make material rewards our only goal, but strive towards eternal and spiritual rewards.

Monogram – The letters S.H. stand for the Sacred Heart of Jesus, after whom our College is named. We should follow the example of Jesus by showing love, facing reality and respecting truth.

Shield – The shield signifies protection. The training and ideals imparted to us during our College life will act as an armour and be a source of strength in our future lives.

Scroll – In ancient times an important document was written on a scroll. Hence our motto and the name of our College are written on scrolls to emphasis their importance.

The Letters – The letters V and K are abbreviations for ‘Virtue’ and ‘Knowledge’. Excellence in virtue is in leading a good life and excellence in knowledge is in developing and using talents to the fullest.
