SPORTS TEAMS

Lifetime

Friends

I commenced SHGC in 1967 and was the only student from my primary school to go to there, which meant that I was extremely nervous and unsure about what to expect. There were many nuns teaching there and the length of our school dresses were regularly checked by getting us to kneel down. The hem had to at least be touching the floor. We were to wear our hat, blazer and gloves at all times in public.

The staff were very kind and committed to our learning and development into young ladies. I remember going over to the Latrobe House for needlework.

We were empowered to believe that we could be anything we put our minds to. I remember the friendships forged and the many happy times and excursions we took part in. My love for the education industry was nurtured throughout this time and I continue to work and thrive as a teacher today. My daughter attended the College too and was also the only student from her primary school to go there. The inclusive and multicultural aspect of the College made it a very interesting and rich environment to learn in.
