grown by nearly 1,000 students. Growth of this magnitude equals the size of three Sherman elementary schools. Currently, Dillingham Intermediate and Sherman High School have portable buildings in place to provide extra classroom space and manage the increase in student enrollment. “More temporary buildings are planned for the future, which is why we’re working to permanently prepare for growth, and passionately plan for excellence in the services we provide to our students,” Bennett said. This year alone, roughly 200 more students have come to Sherman schools than the previous year. Growth has been steady and persistent and the district is diligently planning for a positive and productive future. The CAC will hear growth reports, tour campuses, review grade level configurations, observe teaching and learning in SISD, learn about transformative learning and innovation in education and develop a summary of district facility needs. “It is an exciting time to live in Sherman for we are #BuildingBearcats and designing the future for
