According to Tammy Horne, 9 year old Kennedy is a Daddy’s Girl. “Let’s
just say she has more of her father’s personality in her than she does her
mom’s!” Neither Kennedy nor Danny is a huge fan of being in front of the
camera, they both love seafood (especially crab legs), and they’re both
competitive. Tammy adds, “Which can be good, but it can also be bad.”
Kennedy loves spending time with her dad on the local tennis courts and
asks him every weekend to go “hit the ball” with her. And, although typically females aren’t allowed in the “man cave,” Kennedy is an exception to
that rule. “She loves being out there with him!”
She also enjoys sitting in his lap while they watch TV together. And when
school project deadlines are approaching, it’s “Super Dad Danny” to the rescue. Tammy shares, “They have a special relationship. He never really wants
to discipline her (even though he says he does) because he doesn’t want to
hurt his little girl’s feelings.” Truly, every little girl’s heart is golden in the
eyes of her dad. Tammy and Danny also have a four-year-old son, Cayden.
“The children love each other one minute, and the next they are fighting.
But at the end of the day, they always hug and kiss each other goodnight.”
Kennedy and her family reside in Florence, where she attends Delmae
Elementary. Now in the third grade, Kennedy enjoys math and reading the
most. She strives to make the Honor Roll every nine weeks, and, so far,
she’s been a straight A student every year. In the past, she played softball
and soccer and was involved in gymnastics; however, she is now devoting
all of her free time to tennis. Currently, what Kennedy wants to be when
she grows up (in addition to a hair stylist) is a professional tennis player.
No matter what she ends up doing years from now, she will always have
the support of Tammy and Danny. “We tell her to try everything; but, when
you find the one thing you love, give it your all.”
Although she occasionally makes time for Barbies and her American Girl
doll, Kennedy would much rather play outside with the neighborhood kids
or her cousins. Some of her favorite activities are baseball, climbing trees,
jumping on the trampoline, rollerblading and riding her bicycle. Tammy
admits that when she wants to go shopping, suddenly Kennedy becomes
a Mama’s Girl, especially if she can go get her nails and toes done. She
also loves all things artsy (especially coloring) and participating in drama,
music and Girls in Action at church.
Her favorite movie, which Tammy says she’s only watched about 50 times
by now, is Disney’s “Frozen.” She loves reading Allie Finkle’s Rules for Girls
and watching Disney Channel’s “Jessie.” Her two favorite colors are lime
green and hot pink, and her favorite food is chicken enchiladas. Kennedy
has two four-legged siblings, Titan (a black cat who is old and grumpy) and
McKenzie (a sweet and loving yellow Labrador). McKenzie is Kennedy’s favorite, as she enjoys playing with her human sister and returns love back
tenfold. “Kennedy is a very loving and kind child. She is caring and is always concerned about others.”

Tammy and Danny hope Kennedy will always remember to put God first as she grows into an adult. “We are
trying to strengthen our walk with God. We want Kennedy to have a strong faith as a young girl so, when she
becomes a teen and young adult, she knows who her God is and that He is her first love. We also want her to
be confident in who she is and to love everyone around her. We try to stress to her that, no matter what the
situation is, how a person looks or acts, or what type of clothing they have on, we should all treat one another
as we would want to be treated. Our biggest hope for Kennedy is that she will continue to love church and
school as much as she does now. We tell her every day how important her education is and to continue her
determination in everything she does, but to enjoy every day to the fullest.” With such loving and devoted
parents, as well as God on her side, Kennedy Horne is destined to live quite a successful life!
