MY PASSIONS : My most prominent passion is to help others . While my long-term passion is to help people recover from surgery and to get back to living their lives with physical therapy , I plan to help in any way I can in the meantime . This can vary from giving advice to anyone who asks to helping other people achieve their own short or long-term goals and any other way I can help . My other passion is to be happy - and I mean genuinely happy . There is so much in this world telling you that you should not or cannot be happy , but with the love and forgiveness of God , I can be happy and at peace .
GROWING UP : My family and I grew up on my family ’ s farm , where my sister and I rode four-wheelers and horses all day long . We all lived simply and happily before the divorce of my parents . Through those tough years we gained wisdom , and we moved on with life . My hardworking mother got us a house in the city , and it was a huge transition that my sister and I did not like at all , but we managed . We ’ ve been living in the house now for almost eleven years , and we have all made it our home . As my sister and I stepped out into the crazy world of adolescence , we developed our own different styles and tastes in clothes , music , and about everything else , which made my mom work even harder to keep up , but she managed beautifully as well . My sister and I grew to appreciate our differences , but we have always had a common bond in athletics . As she was the older sibling , she automatically thought she was more dominant ( and let ’ s be real - The older sibling usually is , but it ’ s only because we let them think that for the sake of a peaceful family dinner ). If it weren ’ t for her , I would have never tried to partake in extreme sports like surfing and snow skiing , and I would not be so accepting and understanding of other people ’ s differences . If it weren ’ t for my mom , I would not be as strong as I am now because she told me to always stand up for what I believe . Through my childhood , I really learned to lean on God and my friends . Life gets hard , and people get busy , but God , I learned , will always be there for me . Always .
MY FUTURE PLANS : I ’ m a rising sophomore at the College of Charleston ( Go Cougars !), majoring in exercise science to hopefully become a physical therapist .
MY LIFE MOTTO : Matthew 7:12 , which states , “ So in everything , do to others what you would have them do to you , for this sums up the Law and the Prophets .”
MY HEROES : My heroes are honestly any of my loved ones who have made me smile when I was down , who have made me laugh when I was crying , and anyone who has taken the time to get to know me . Like I said earlier , making someone feel appreciated and valued is one of the most beautiful things you can do for a person , and anyone who does this is a hero in my book .
WHAT MATTERS MOST TO ME : People mean the most to me - not materialistic objects or social popularity , but true , genuine relationships with people . God created us and told us to love one another like we love ourselves , and with genuine relationships come comfort and peace of mind . Peace is that for which we all really strive , anyway .
DREAMS I HOPE TO FULFILL : My dream is to be a great wife , mother , and friend who is also a successful physical therapist .
MY INSPIRATION : I truly believe that wherever you go , whatever you do , and whomever you meet inspire you in different ways , so I am inspired by the people in my life , the places I have been , and the books that I read ( with one standing out - the Bible ).
