PRAYER Where did Abram Go ?

Abram went back to where he first built an altar to God . Back to where he had been at the beginning
PRAYER THEME : A loving Father who always listens
Read Genesis Chapters 12:10 to the end , and 13:1 – 4
Abram took his wife , family and flocks to Egypt because of the famine that was in the land . Through fear of being killed Abram not only lied but told his wife to lie as well in order to deceive Pharaoh . Fortunately for Abram , God spoke and troubled Pharaoh not to take his wife and he was able to peacefully leave Egypt .
between Bethel and Ai . It was there he called on the name of the Lord . I am sure this is where he would have repented for his lack of trust in God .
He had to go back to go forward quite a few times as you read on , but he always went back to God to the altar . How many times in our lives do we need to do that ? We may have returned several times to where we first built an altar to God and ask Him to forgive our mistrust our lack of obedience so that we can move on .
Psalm 5 “ Give ear to my words , O Lord , consider my meditation . Give heed to the voice of my cry , my King and my God , for to You I will pray . My voice You shall hear in the morning , O Lord ; In the morning I will direct it to You , And I will look up . For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness , nor shall evil dwell with You . The boastful shall not stand in Your sight ; You hate all workers of iniquity . You shall destroy those who speak falsehood ; The Lord abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man . But as for me , I will come into Your house in the multitude of Your mercy ; In fear of You I will worship toward Your holy temple . Lead me , O Lord , in Your righteousness because of my enemies ; Make Your way straight before my face . For there is no faithfulness in their mouth ; Their inward part is destruction ; Their throat is an open tomb ; They flatter with their tongue . Pronounce them guilty , O God ! Let them fall by their own counsels ; Cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions , for they have rebelled against You . But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You ; Let them ever shout for joy , because You defend them ; Let those also who love Your name Be joyful in You . For You , O Lord , will bless the righteous ; With favor You will surround him as with a shield .” Amen ( NKJV )
Let us Pray Heavenly Father I come to You today to ask You to forgive my lack of trust in You . You have been and still is so faithful to me and yet I seem to be fearful of obeying Your word as it is so against the ‘ world ’ s way of doing things ’. Please forgive me , as I lay my shattered dreams and fears at Your feet and ask You to lift me up so I can move on with You . p
