The Nanny State
Nanny state is a term of British origin that conveys a view that a government or its policies are overprotective or interfering unduly with personal choice . The term “ nanny state ” likens government to the role that a nanny has in child rearing .

Moral law
The laws given by God to govern morality i . e . how we treat each other . Morality means : “ Principles concerning the distinction between right and wrong or good and bad behaviour .” ( Oxford Dictionary ) The Ten Commandments written by God ’ s own hand contains the moral laws such as ‘ you should not murder or steal ’ etc .
Ceremonial law
Ceremonial laws , as the name suggests , are laws given to Moses by God that outlines how religious ceremonies must be conducted . These ceremonies were carried out as an act of worship and God ’ s requirements for worship are very precise . For example , the incense used in the Tabernacle was to be made in a specific way ( see article ‘ Jesus in the Tabernacle of Moses ’). Disobeying such instructions could be fatal .
Civic law
Civic laws governed the running of civic society . Civic means : “ Relating to a city or town , especially its administration ; municipal .” ( Oxford Dictionary ) These laws were given to Moses by God to avoid disputes and ensure the smooth running and governance of Israel for example how they should go about getting a divorce .
The Tabernacle
According to the Hebrew Bible , was the portable earthly meeting place of God with the children of Israel from the time of the Exodus from Egypt through the conquering of the land of Canaan .
