14) Looking back over the years of inking it up, what would you change?

I'd have begun in earnest much, much sooner. I'm forty now, and I get a little depressed thinking about how much better a writer I'd be if I hadn't wasted my twenties wanting to be a writer and used that time instead to, you know, write.

15) What is the most important piece of advice you would give to new writers, fresh out of high school?

Try to get in the habit of writing something or working on something regularly, at least once a week. Once a day is better. Don't wait for inspiration; just hit the bricks and get to work! If you set aside a certain time regularly to work on your writing you'll be reaching your goals much quicker than if you just wait for the right time. Like learning a musical instrument or a skilled trade, you have to practice to improve and the more regularly you practice the better you'll get. Your life is filled with stories. Keep writing! Keep speaking your voice. Keep telling your stories.
