Artist Feature: Whitney Colley & Anton Jeludkov 14 Anton Jeludkov & Whitney Colley are Chicago based artists, and have collaborated since 2016. Their background in Graphic Design and Painting inform their approach to mixed-media work. Their methodology consists of transforming digitally rendered objects into tactile image spaces—weaving optically dimensional imagery with deliberately flat shapes. Anton & Whitney’s collaborative process draws on a stream-of- consciousness-like approach to composition— bouncing sketches back and forth, constantly re-constructing one another’s work until it feels unified, yet disjointed and unfamiliar. Their imagery draws on elements of surrealism and abstract formalism—paintings act as windows into the subconscious, blending recognizable ubiquitous objects, with completely abstracted elements; as if piecing together a memory, or attempting to capture a fragmented flashback.
