gail labovitz Gail Labovitz is a writer living in Los Angeles. She has studied in such programs as the Writers’ Studio in New York and the Writers’ Program of the UCLA Exten- sion. Her previous publications include several short stories in Jewish and/or feminist journals; this is her first “experimental” piece to be published. Martin, Russian literature specialist and graduate of Willamette University, has published fiction and memoir in New London Writers, a vignette in Vine Leaves Literary Review, creative nonfiction in Poetry Circle, Open: Journal of Arts and Letters, and Breath and Shadow. Her poetry has appeared in the Willamette Review of the Liberal Arts, Portland Review of Art, Pentimento, Twisted Vine Leaves, The Examined Life, Wordgathering, Dodging the Rain, Antiphon, Dark Ink, Gyro- scope, Poor Yorick, and upcoming in Shanti, in addition to translated poetry in Rhino. She has completed a poetry mentorship through AWP’s Writ- er-to-Writer program and is a member of Lighthouse Writers Workshop in Denver, CO, where she also practices her visual art.
