He resumed to walk, slow and purposeful, his eyes scanning Standing Deer, the land, and back at the boy; “It is not always this way...wisdom comes from experience...it comes from time. Some answers must come when the time is right. Come, I have some friends that you need to meet.”

Standing Deer understood that he needed to keep quiet. It was hard for him, after all, an eleven year old boy has many questions about many things!

So they walked together, Teacher and Student. They walked along a trail that narrowed and became covered with wild grass. The trail turned west, around the base of a rocky young mountain and then back towards the North, falling under the shade of a towering canyon, into coolness and an early darkness.

Grey Fox made a hard left, moving on a trail seen only by rabbits.

He scampered up and over rocks and twisted roots of trees; they moved along on a dry wash that waited for the thunderstorms and rains that would soon come.
