THE DROUGHT
DRAGS ON
03 |
All of our operations depend upon water, and
they are all impacted by drought. Whether it is
a wet or dry year, 2.6 million people depend
upon us to deliver high-quality water every day.
We’ve continued to provide 100% of the municipal
power needs of the City and treat an average of
40 billion gallons of wastewater before returning
it to the bay and ocean each year.
As water supplies become more vulnerable to
the impacts of climate change, we continue to
diversify our supply through our Local Water
Program. Find out the latest details about
our local and regional groundwater projects,
recycled water projects, graywater projects,
rainwater harvesting and desalination at
sfwater.org/localwater.
We are able to stretch our precious water supplies
thanks to your commitment. Celebrate your brown
lawn. Keep conserving! This year we saw an 8%
reduction in water deliveries, a total of 1.9 billion
gallons. If you are an account holder, you can
track your water usage and conservation goals

savings. Report water waste to 311. Learn
