Ease of getting around is enhanced by a public transport system that is efficient and extensive, with stops covering most, if not all, places of interest. This includes the well-known Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system, as well as the public bus system. However, if you are looking for even more convenience the Hop-On Hop-Off bus tour will cover just about everything you want to see: museums, concert halls, and the never ending string of shopping malls.

While some people return regularly to Singapore (the food alone is a good enough excuse to go back), it seems you can get a great feel for the city in three to four full days. There are plenty of local cultural things to do like skim through Little India, Chinatown, or Arab Street, or you can hit the main stage and check out the museums, concert halls, and the ample variety of shopping venues.

On a bitter-sweet note you will realize how nature has been completely conquered with seemingly every plant or blade of grass exactly placed and curated. Perhaps this is what we have to look forward to in an increasingly urbanizing world. One may argue that this artificial landscape is more desirable than none at all - although it does make you wonder whether the world is heading towards a point where Nature becomes "nature", only to be seen and experienced in flower boxes on sidewalks and forests preserved in biodomes. Nevertheless, Singapore has imbued its city with more green space than just about any other city of its size and for that it deserves accolades. As a matter of fact, walking though the Cloud Forrest atrium inspires awe both as a feat of human creativity and engineering but also for a splendid sampling of biodiversity encapsulated inside the dome.
