Seeking:Travel Companion

Must be: Flexible. Cooperative. Easygoing. Green!

What are your requirements for a travel companion? I’d like to present my case for the Freitag F512 Voyager. I’ve spent lots of time with my new travel buddy the last few months journeying through Germany, splashing around the island of Crete, and even a professional pop in to England. By bus, train, or plane, for holidays or business, my new companion has made my travel life more convenient.

I went on holiday to the beaches of Crete for nine days, and my only luggage was my Freitag Voyager. It handled all necessities for the trip and I was able to carry it onto my easyJet flight with ease (bonus: no annoying baggage fees). It also doubled as a reliable beach bag. Its external material -- repurposed semi truck tarp! -- managed sand, snorkels, and salt water effortlessly.

For lighter treks, the Voyager‘s flexible design allows you to fold it over and tighten the strap so it’s not much bigger than a traditional backpack. The horizontal zipper also makes accessing the goods easier than a backpack’s top-to-bottom approach. My new travel buddy has definitely made solo travel easier: more hands free moments for boarding passes, coffee, Google maps, selfies, etc.

Although a stranger has never approached me about my companion, I have noticed fellow passengers looking on with envy as I snatch the Voyager from the overhead compartment, slip it onto my back…and onto my destination.

Freitag’s Voyager has proven to be my kind of travel companion – what about you?
