3. Promotes Local Farming: I could write an entire article dedicated to the benefits of local farming, but I will try to keep it short and to the point. More local farming means more local jobs and more local nutritious foods. Eating seasonally means supporting the farmers around you-providing your local farmers with reliable incomes. The demand for local-seasonal foods is growing and some grocery stores are catching on and fulfilling this demand by supplying locally grown-seasonal foods in their stores.

We have developed as a society to not think much about where our food comes from. Our minds are fixed on finding the cheapest foods. Cheap is an illusion… Someone is paying for this food weather it be an underpaid farmer in another country or mother earth pays the difference by bearing the negative consequences of destructive factory farming methods used to produce cheaper foods. Every time we purchase foods we are voting; we are giving our money to further support the farming practices used to produce this food. So, this season make a difference-do yourself and our beautiful planet a favor- and eat seasonally.
