This is their story and opinion on what does it mean to be a Top 10 Green Fins member:

When ABWonderdive was created did you envision including environmental practices as a core part of your business?

We’ve been PADI instructors for over 20 years and in every dive company and country we have worked in, we’ve been doing clean ups and following other environmentally friendly guidelines like Project Aware. So when we relocated our dive shop to the Philippines 10 years ago, it was a natural attitude to bring with us. Alice is trained as a Reef Check EcoDiver and became a trainer so on top of everything else, we’ve been running coral monitoring programmes with our staff and training up local fisheries officers as well.

What was your first impression of the Green Fins initiative and how has it evolved through time?

When Green Fins first came to us in 2011, we liked the initiative they took, to get everybody on the same ‘green wave’. We had the same passion for protecting the environment so we immediately signed up and have been Active Members since the initiative was launched in Puerto Galera. Our membership has led to many fruitful talks and development of ideas and environmental solutions with our assessors, and two of our dive staff were handpicked to represent environmentally friendly diving locally, as Green Fins Ambassadors
