SHARE YOUR KNOWLEDGE

If you’ve heard about Green Fins or any other awareness raising initiatives, share that knowledge with your fellow divers. There is plenty of time for sharing experiences when it comes to enjoying a dive trip! During the boat ride, after dive talks; we all have the opportunity to make a difference.

If you’re inclined to tip your dive guides, use this to encourage positive traits like environmental dive briefings and correction of damaging behaviours underwater. Most dive guides are very aware of the need to protect their reefs to protect their chosen career, after all a reef in bad health isn’t going to attract the tourists. However the age-old belief that the customer is always right can mean that guides are reluctant to point you in the right direction. Compliment them if they do and they are more likely to prevent others from damaging their reefs.

Be a role model, and encourage everyone to demand environmental practices!

BE A GREEN FINS CHAMPION!

Remember that one small change in attitude in each one of us can have a huge positive impact on the survival of coral reefs and all the species that depend on them. The decisions you make on a dive, or a diving holiday can make a real difference. There is a reason so many initiatives use the diving industry as a springboard for action, we’re in the prime position to see, report, and act for healthier reefs!
