INTERNATIONAL MONSTER EXCHANGE PROJECT

This Fall , as a part of our ‘ Body Parts ’ Unit , Grade 1 SEV English students took part in our annual Monster Exchange Project . Our students partnered with a group of Grade 1 students from the Village School in California , U . S . A . After learning vocabulary about body parts and how to describe them , students created monsters in groups of three and used their newly acquired language skills to describe these monsters . We will send these pictures and descriptions to our friends in the United States whose teachers will read the descriptions to them and they will recreate the monsters . We will see how good our descriptions were by looking at the redrawn monsters . Through projects like that , students get a chance to use their English skills to communicate with other children around the world .
