THE CHARACTER I DISLIKE THE MOST

In the novel Holes , the character I dislike the most is X-Ray . This is because he acts like the official leader of the boys in tent D at Camp Green Lake . He decides that they should call Stanley “ Caveman ”. X-Ray also decides everyone ’ s place in line for filling the canteens with water . He always insists that he is the leader of the group even though he is one of the shortest boys in Camp Green Lake and can ’ t see anything without his glasses . I think that he is so mean to everyone and he is also selfish . For example he told Stanley that if he finds something while digging holes , he should give it to him so he can get a day off just because he has been in Camp Green Lake for a long time ! So , when Stanley finds a golden tube , he gives it to X-Ray ! X-Ray got a day off and also some extra snacks . That was unfair ! I think he is jealous of the others . For instance , when Zero dug Stanley ’ s hole , he got really jealous and said a mean thing like “ I will give my cookie to you if you let me dig your hole for you .” So in short , I think X-Ray is mean , selfish and jealous and I don ’ t like him .

In Holes , the novel we are reading in Language Arts , the character I like the least is “ Mr . Sir ”. I hate Mr . Sir because he has got some serious flaws in his character . Mr . Sir hates the campers , he is always very mean to them . For instance , he treated Stanley incredibly bad when he got scratched by the Warden . He always shouts at the campers when they do something he doesn ’ t like . He has got a serious anger management problem , he always acts angrily . Also , I dislike him because he is dangerous , he carries a gun with him and he doesn ’ t look like he wouldn ’ t want to use it . I think he is a bad guy , he doesn ’ t do anything good for anybody . Finally , he is the slave of the evil Warden , he does everything that the Warden wants . These are some of the reasons why I hate Mr . Sir .

Stanley tried to steal the water truck and go save Zero but he drove it straight into a hole . Then he managed to get to his feet and run away . Then he went to the Big Thumb and he found Zero . If I were the main character in my book I wouldn ’ t try to drive the water truck because I don ’ t know how to drive it . I probably would have filled my canteen before I ran away . However , I would definitely go to Big Thumb and stay away from yellow spotted lizards too . I wouldn ’ t drink that 100 year old spiced peach “ sploosh ” that they found under the boat either . In the end I would go back to Camp Green Lake . I would try my chance with the Warden .

If I were Stanley Yelnats , in the Holes book , I would first handle Stanley ’ s court appearance much better by requesting the camera records recorded near the highway . If I had failed in retrieving the camera records , I would surely choose to go to Camp Green Lake because the jails in the United States are full of serious criminals and I wouldn ’ t want to join them . If I were in Stanley ’ s situation , when I found out that the Warden was making campers dig holes not to build character but to find Kate Barlow ’ s treasure , I would tell the other campers about this and we would refuse to help the Warden find Kate Barlow ’ s treasure . If I failed in creating an uproar within the camp against the Warden , I would ask the other campers to come with me to find Zero and escape from Camp Green Lake ! Also , I would hit Mr . Sir with the pickup truck before I drove away so that he wouldn ’ t be able to catch me . I would definitely take care not to drive into a hole while driving ! These are the things I will do if I were Stanley Yelnats .
