SWAP SHOP AND BOARD GAMES

The projects being showcased are ‘ Swap Shop ’ and ‘ Board Games .’ In Swap Shop , the students were required to create posters for an event that they were to plan and set up themselves , a lunchtime Swap Shop where they could trade gently loved items for new-to-you items from a friend . Fifth graders finished second term by creating their own board games . They used their cumulative English skills learned through the year plus their ability and obligation vocabulary to write the instructions and rules for their game . They had fun exchanging their games with each other and playing them . The intention of the projects was to build fluency , as well as to practice the Present Perfect form and modal verbs in English .
