The beginning
We all have a bucket list, somewhere, some place, sometime. The problem is that most of these lists very seldom gets crossed off, like mine was. One of the items on my list among with 200 other dream fishing trips, was a special trip with my two sons that we will remember for many years to come!
So when the opportunity knocked on the door, with a little help from the wife who said to just do it, the trip was booked!!
They had an opening in 3 weeks’, or we had to book for the next season. The season is super short, only three months long, due to bad weather and heat conditions. So we opted for the next season that resulted in an agonizing waiting game. That said, it gave me ample time to get all the gear needed and make sure our casting is up to scratch and enough flies are tied to fill three sets of fly boxes.
So the shopping and tying started ....for three of everything!
The Journey
So the year passed quicker than anyone could imagine and with a week or two to go we had all the tackle, but not enough flies. Can one ever have enough?
With one or two tying sessions with super supportive club members, the boxes were filled and we left for OR Tambo packed and ready to go!!
