After breakfast we set off for the day in pairs again Leslie & I downstream from the Cottage with Butch & Shane upstream. It was great to be back on Gateshead's waters, as Leslie & Butch has reported the evening before the water was exceptionally clear and flowing at a comfortable rate, all things indicated a good day.
As the morning disappeared, we struggled, very few sightings of any fish but the few we caught were a reasonable size. At lunch while munching on our sarmies we came to the conclusion that the drought of the past few years had taken its toll, leaving only the fittest trout.
