Monoblock stainless steel and titanium continue to be a popular look as it is a nice middle ground between ultra-thin metals and the heavier look of acetate. KLIIK WestGroupe says thin metal frames are becoming more and more popular, particularly amongst the Millennial crowd. “Monoblock stainless steel and titanium continue to be a popular look as it is a nice middle ground between ultra-thin metals and the heavier look of acetate,” says Beverly Suliteanu, vice-president of product development at WestGroupe. “Combination frames are also increasing in popularity as consumers transition from acetate to metal styling.” With the love for metals rising, WestGroupe is putting a lot of emphasis on experimenting with new finishes, like liquid metallic finishes to create a modern and fresh look. “Patterned fronts are also heavily featured this season,” she says. That includes animalistic patterned acetate frames, like FYSH UK F-3615, or a laser-cut patterned metal. Special and intricate detailing are also front and centre this season, including metal hardware, laser-patterned eye rims and stud accents. Metallic shades will also be featured by WestGroupe this fall. “In addition to the standard gold, silver, rose gold and bronze tones, metallic finishes are creating new looks for bolder hues such as purple, green, plum and blue,” says Suliteanu. FYSH 3615 FYSH 3613 FYSH UK women’s models will feature jewel tones like ruby red, as seen in model F-3613, emerald green and deep blue. Those tones will nicely offset warm neutrals like dark grey, caramel, jet black and sand. “Despite the colder months, pastel hues are con- tinuing to grow in popularity with soft purples and blues joining the popular nude and blush tones,” Suliteanu says. KLIIK K-625 “For men, grey, black, navy and brown tones continue to dominate our Kliik and Evatik men’s collections, but vibrant hues such as red, yellow, orange and green will be featured accent tones.” OPTICAL PRISM | September 2018 27
