We said our goodbyes to Capt. Brooks and
Zack, vacated the lodge, and headed back into the
city. The fellas got hotel rooms, and after everyone
got relaxed and cleaned up, we took our fresh fish
to Johnny Sanchez on Poydras and had a feast of
deliciousness. Besides the fresh fish tacos, the ceviche we had (shrimp, octopus, crab, and yellowtail
on shell plates) was melt-in-your-mouth divine.
The next morning, we all stopped by the Marsh
and Bayou Outfitters shop in the French Quarter so
we could get a photo with Wild Bill, Erick, and
Robert in the shop, then everyone split to the four
winds to head to their homes - but that wasn’t until
we all planned another fishing trip in the fall, of

in, with fins flared out, to engulf the Walking Boss;
it was just amazing to see a big red coming at your
lure from a distance in such clean water. The fight
was incredible; the red fought hard to get off, but
those Mustad Onyx hooks had him. We got him
into the boat and continued fishing.
At the last spot, we found keeper trout chasing
bait and caught a few under the EBS Grand Slam
corks with live shrimp. Then the storms got too
close, so we called it a day and headed in.
