THE MAIN THING

with Terri Wilson

Many of us have been under the misconception that we have to be perfect, all “i's” dotted and “t's” crossed, to come to God (or whatever you choose to call Him). That is a lie of the enemy especially if you've been serving him for a while.

Take a look at Matthew 11:28 in any version you choose. I like the way it's worded in The Message bible. Scripture clearly tells us we can come to Him in whatever state we're in and I believe the worse, the better. When you come to God as you are, two things will be revealed. First you will transition from a “nobody” to a “somebody” and others notice as you take your rightful place in Him. The second revelation is God's awesome ability to transform those who genuinely believe in Him, into works of art.

Look at what He did for Ruth, a woman who believed in and worshiped all kinds of gods. He gave her love and riches beyond measure. Moses was a man who had a speech problem but God trusted him with the task of delivering His people from oppression. Paul was a man who persecuted God's people trying to kill all he could. God allowed him to know His son like no other. Ester was a quiet, unassuming woman. He placed her in the wrong place at the right time to help her people. Noah, a mere family man was chosen when God decided to start His creation of man over again. And then there was Mary, a woman who was engaged to someone else but God allowed her to be the Mother of Salvation.

So if you're tired of the same old thing, if you're burdened by any kind of guilt, loneliness, and feeling unworthy of love – I know a man! He's a man who “sticks closer than a brother”, one who will never leave you, one who will make a way out of no way, someone who is there for you in the middle of the night when there's no one around to hear you cry, one who wants the worst in you so He can show you and others the best of you.

Be Blessed.

GIVING HIM THE BEST OF YOU
