•••• IN T H E SP OTLI GH T JOHAN VAN WYK Everyone’s Boeta Boeta is a proud third-generation producer! IN AGRICULTURAL CIRCLES ONE NEEDS TRUE FRIENDSHIP, WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU GET FROM SENWES PRO- DUCER JOHAN VAN WYK, OR BOETA AS HE IS KNOWN IN THIS AREA. AUBREY KRUGER B oeta has been farming on his farm Klipfon tein for the past 13 years, approximately 45 km from Schweizer-Reneke in the Bloemhof direc tion. KLIPFONTEIN Klipfontein is very close to the farm house. It was named as such due to the large number of stones and diggings in the area, while the fountain part refers to the fountain and pans in the area. The 34-year old Boeta was born in Bloemhof, grew up on this farm and completed both his pri mary and high school careers in Schweizer, where he matriculated in 2001. The success they are expe riencing comes from the fact that they are one big family, which works together well. FAMILY FRIEND Boeta is firstly a family man. He has been married to Trudie for the past six years and they have two children, Dihani (5) and Johan (1). Trudie is his pillar of strength and comes from a family of farm ers as well. She is a registered bookkeeper and does the farm’s books. The children also have farming in their blood - Dihani already says “Remember I am a farm girl” and little Johan runs around the farm yard, making broom-broom tractor noises. THIRD GENERATION PRODUCER AND FOURTH GENERATION JOHAN He is a proud third generation producer, after his father and grandfather who also farmed here. The name Johannes Jacobus stretches over five gener ations, from his great-grandfather to his own son, with the same name. 10 OCT/NOV 2017 • SENWES Scenario
