NO-ONE HAS TO
STAY THE SAME...

HE MAKES YOU SO
MUCH MORE... SO
MUCH MORE IN LOVE.
I
t is not easy for anyone to get
along with all people. There
will always be someone with the
ability to make you furious or
to simply just irritate you. The
truth is, however, that you and I
can also be a pain to others! Yes,
inter-personal relationships are
complex because we are all human
and we have different ways of
thinking, different motives and
different emotions. We should,
however, never make excuses for
ourselves for who and what we are
by declaring that people have to
accept us for what we are. That we
were made this way. Children of
the living God are people under
constant construction, people who
change constantly in order to be
more like Him. People living with
more love. Our Father loves us
the way we are, but He loves us
too much to leave us the way we
are. He wants the best for us and
others. When we allow Him to
change us, something happens in
our relationships. We start looking
at other people differently. We
look at them with grace - with eyes
washed with love.
You will remember that Jacob,
of whom we read in Genesis, was
not really known for good relationships with others. He preferred
52 JUN/JUL 2016
to bake cake with his mother
rather than to farm with his father.
He also did not hesitate to cheat
his brother, Esau, and to tell him
a lot of lies. Due to this he was a
refugee of the world - until God
appeared to him - and his whole
life changed. He became a maker
of peace, a builder of bridges, a
person who made a difference in
other people's lives.
If Jacob - the swindler - could
change to this extent, think of
what our Father could do with
your heart and mine, if only we
would allow Him!
Father, please don't allow me to
stay the same. Make me new. New
in grace and love.

and that we can be at peace because
we are guided by God.
Milanie’s prayer for her readers

grace.
