16 Senwes Equipment technicians
in 2016 John Deere top 50

The four Parys technicians are
Hendrik de Klerk, Roelf Jones,
Thys Somphane and André
Pienaar, with the Lichtenburg
entrants being Chris Goosen,
Erich Leibbrandt and Muller van
Heerden. The two Hertzogville
technicians who made the top
50 are Casper Botha and Gerrus
Fourie, with Tienie Jansen van
Rensburg and Pieter du Toit from
Ottosdal. The other five are Cor
neel Botes (Bloemfontein), Warren
Kleinsmit (Bultfontein), Corne
Kleingeld (Hartbeesfontein), Edward Hamilton (Kroonstad) and
André Pienaar (Ventersdorp).

technicians will once again
eagerly participate in the John
Deere Technician of the Year competition.
Senwes Equipment boasts
16 of the technicians. This is an
improvement on 2015, when 11
technicians made the top 50.
This year the selected 50 wrote
their exams in April and the top
ten will be selected, depending on
the results of the exams.
Our sixteen representatives are
all from the Senwes Equipment
family with four from Parys, three
from Lichtenburg, two each from
Hertzogville and Ottosdal and the
other five representing Bloemfon-

mix of talent. The list includes
four Senwes Equipment technicians who also made the top 2015
list - Botha, Fourie, Hamilton and
Van Heerden made the cut a se
cond time in as many years and
the remaining 12 made their debut
in the top 50.
Muller, who made the top 10
in 2015, delivered on his promise
to try and make the top three in
2016. They will all be gunning for
victory, but it will again be a tough
year as the 2015 winner from
Afgri, Niel Ackerman, is also still
in the running. Hopefully we will
have another podium finisher like
Myburg de Bruyn from Wesselsbron, as reported in the previous
edition.
