PRO MO T IO N A L A RT ICL E ••• NATIONAL FOOTPRINT T he future vision of Ters Pretorius to expand the trademark on a country-wide basis, resulted in the establishment of satellite plants (or factories) in partnership with the Botha family from Vissersdam, district Trompsburg during 2012, and the Van Zyl Family Trust from Thuso Mills, Bothaville during 2014. Johan Botha is the director of the Trompsburg plant and Thabo van Zyl the director of the Thuso Feed Mill. The plant at Trompsburg specialises in the blending of sheep products, but it can also manufacture licks, and the two plants in Heilbron, as well as the plant in Bothaville, are multi-specie mills, which can also manufacture licks on a separate basis. It makes it possible to distribute the Telwiedré product as far as the Eastern Cape, Northwest, Free State, Gauteng, parts of Limpopo and KZN. Marketers are active in all the regions and are rendering service and advice to existing and potential customers. Telwiedré makes use of the best animal feed experts in the world to support the marketers in their duties. Telwiedré Voere is accredited with and is regularly audited by Dekra ISO9001:2008; AFMA Safe Feed for Safe Food, as well as AfriCompliance, who are specialists in Africa in respect of the management of risks and compliance with legislative requirements in the animal feed industry. This is to ensure that the management and quality systems of Telwiedré Voere will continue to be of a world standard. The three directors (owners) of the different plants are all active farmers, which means that they have empathy with the situation of producers. Due to the recent and continuing drought country-wide, they do everything in their power to assist producers. Proof of their support is the drought aid and promotions (special discounts), offered at the end of December 2015 and which still apply in respect of certain products via co-operatives or retail outlets.
