SAB transported 11 consignments ( 550 bales ) of fodder free of charge to Bultfontein producers .
SENWES , SAB , ZZ2 AND GRAINOVATION JOIN FORCES
Senwes forges partnerships to support Bultfontein producers

Over the past few months a number of large companies joined forces with Senwes to assist producers in the Bultfontein area . Senwes , ZZ2 , SAB and Grainovation joined forces to help producers in need .
ZZ2 ZZ2 transported fodder to the drought-stricken areas free of charge . It involved 11 consignments of 572 bales which were transported from the Odendaalsrus / Kroonstad area to Bultfontein . It follows on 6 consignments which were delivered in May , which were also transported free of charge by ZZ2 from Thabazimbi to the Northwest . The transport manager at ZZ2 , Japie Burger , said that they joined the project after Senwes approached them to become involved in the Agri SA Drought Disaster Fund . Burger says that ZZ2 is prospering at present and it is their privilege to assist people in need . “ The transporting of bales is our small contribution to farmers in drought-stricken areas .”
SAB SAB also transported 11 consignments of fodder to farmers in Bultfontein , where more than 550 bales reached farmers in the area . Distribution Controller at SAB , Henk Koekemoer , said that SAB would like to make a positive contribution to the local communities in the area . He added : “ This project , in co-operation with Senwes and the farmers from the area , afforded SAB the opportunity to give back to the community in these difficult times .”
This agreement enables producers to buy fodder in other areas , with ZZ2 and SAB providing free transport . Herman Meiring , Chairman of Bultfontein District Agriculture , says that the partnership between Senwes , SAB and ZZ2 was forged during the Nampo Harvest Day . Meiring added : “ These donations mean a lot to us . We will never be able to measure it in monetary terms . We really notice what they are doing for us . GRAINOVATION Senwes would also like to thank Grainovation as they were part of the Agri SA Drought Disaster Fund since the beginning . Grainovation has delivered many loads of fodder and drought pellets to the Bultfontein and Hoopstad district . In the process they also played a huge role in terms of logistics .
SENWES Francois Strydom , Group Chief Executive of Senwes , conveyed his gratitude to SAB , ZZ2 and Grainovation : “ It is gratifying to see how South Africans join hands in these difficult times to help people in need who are severely affected by the worst drought in a hundred years ,” said Strydom .
Senwes established the Agri SA Drought Disaster Fund in 2015 and donated R1 million to the fund . It has been involved in many ways ever since . The partnership with SAB and ZZ2 proves that Senwes is still doing everything in its power to bring relief to people in need . Meiring added that producers would like to bring more fodder to the area and appealed to organisations to join Senwes and ZZ2 in their efforts .
