Senwes Equipment
technicians flex their muscles
Myburg and Muller among the John Deere top ten
SENWES EQUIPMENT
TECHNICIANS PERFORMED
EXCEPTIONALLY WELL
IN THE FINAL LEG
OF THE JOHN DEERE
TECHNICIAN OF THE YEAR
COMPETITION.
T
he finals, which were held
over two days in January
2016 at the John Deere head office
in Boksburg, were quite demanding.
Our two participants were
Myburg de Bruyn, Tractor Tech
nician at Senwes Equipment, Wesselsbron and Muller van Heerden,
Tractor Technician at Senwes
Equipment, Lichtenburg.
In the end Myburg came third
and received the prize with his
wife, Amy de Bruyn on his side.
Muller ended in the top ten.
Ten tests had to be taken over
the two days, five practical tests
and five theoretical tests. Six were
taken on the first day and the rest
on the second day.
These tests were the last stretch
in a process of many months to
find the best technicians. A few
hundred entries were received at
first, which were eventually narrowed down to 50. Sensasi also
reported on our two technicians
when they were part of a group of
11 Senwes Equipment technicians
who took part in the competition.
Five of the eleven technicians
are from Kroonstad, two from
Hertzogville and one each from
Bothaville, Lichtenburg, Schweizer-Reneke and Wesselsbron.
The Kroonstad five are André
Chamberlain, Corné Coetzee,
Eddie Hamilton, Etienne Burger
and Vinny Nhlapo. The two from
Senwes in Hertzogville are Casper
Botha and Gerrus Fourie and the
others are Henk Jansen van Rensburg (Bothaville), Jaco Holloway
(Schweizer-Reneke), Muller from
Lichtenburg and Myburg from
Wesselsbron.
Myburg's third prize was a
weekend for two to the value of
R10 000. Muller, who was under
the top ten, has already entered
next year's competition in the
hope of winning one of the top
three places.
These two technicians say that
they learned a lot about themselves
and that their diagnostic abilities
improved significantly.
Third place in
the John Deere
Technician of the
Year competition.
Myburg de Bruyn
receives his prize
from Jason Brantley,
Managing Director
of John Deere
South Africa.
Tractor Technician at
Senwes Equipment,
Wesselsbron, Myburg
de Bruyn, is congratulated
by Ferdie Pieterse,
Managing Executive,
Senwes Equipment.
