WPT Deepstacks
T
he 2016 WPT Deep Stacks Tampa series ran June 9-20 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
The 12-day festival was headlined by $570/$200K and $350/$100K preliminaries as well as a
$1,100/$300K Main Event. Local radio personality, Jesse Kage participated in the series and prepared
with private lessons from some of the Seminole Hard Rock Calendar Girls.
The series headliner main event drew 538
entries generating a prize of $527,240.
Anthony Astarita of Flemington, N.J. laid
claim to the tournament’s $130,541 top
prize. With just over four hours of play,
the final table was live streamed from the
Hard Rock Cafe and for his efforts, Astarita
collected prize money, the DSPT, a custom
guitar trophy from Seminole Hard Rock
Tampa and a $3,000 package to the DSPT
Championship event in December. Finishing
second was George Wolfe ($73,394), while
Justin Fawcett ($47,182) rounded out the
top three.
