Isle of Skye

Renting a Caravan to live in is common for every Scottish especially during Summer long vacation trip. But it is an eye opener for me to live in such an accommodation as i have to be aware of the space constraint from hitting the car roof top.A caravan is also called a ‘motorhome’ – where you can conveniently bring your kitchen, bedroom and toilet with you while road travelling within the country.

These are real-life tips that I can share with you: (you probably won’t find it in any guide book!)

1.

Switch on the gas to run the heater for half an hour if you want a hot shower.

2.

Turn off the gas immediately after the shower, else you will risk running out of gas and have to spend another few bucks to replace a new one.

3.

Don’t waste water! Water tank is limited; you have to ration enough to wash your hair and shower, plus washing the dirty dishes and laundry.

4.

Lastly, change waste tank frequently; otherwise you will come out of the shower with smelly hair and body.

Graduation Ceremony

My heart is popping while the chancellor called her name on the stage. As the recipient walked to the stage to receive the certificate, I shouted 'Yeah! That’s my sister!' Everyone claps.

We, like many other families in Scotland and around the world, were at Isle of Skype, the second largest island in Scotland for the University Graduation Ceremony – an occasion marked by laughter and happy tears.

Isle of Skye means ‘Cloud-island’, a Viking reference to the often-mist-enshrouded Cuillin Hills, a range of rocky mountains. A true Cuillin is mainly composed of gabbro, a very rough black igneous rock which provided a superb grip for mountaineers and basalt, which can be very slippery when wet. There are 17 major peaks to hike; one of the highest peaks is Sgurr Alasdair (992m).
