Year 1965 - Singapore was separated from Malaysia and became an independent republic. The Singapore then was facing severe unemployment and a housing crisis, thus her Singaporean parents along with 4 young kids remained in Johor Bahru, Malaysia to live and work.
Ms Kuek started her early education in Malaysia's Pandan Primary School, and later Foon Yew Chinese Independent High school. In 1983, she attained a Singapore GCE A Level certificate.
Her love of numbers prompted her to pursue a London CHamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Accounting Diploma right after her A levels. Armed with the newly acquired skills, she joined Utracon Pte Ltd in 1987. In 2008, she was transfereed to Utracon (then knowns as "Utraco") Structural Systems Pte Ltd.

Looks can be deceiving. With her petite frame and fair skin, it is surprising that she is an outdoorsy person who enjoys jogging and badminton.
Every Thursday from 6 to 8p.m., you can find her sweating it out at Bukit Gombak Stadium with some like-minded colleagues for a game of badminton. She enjoys it for its speed, strength, teamwork and strategic thinking (like how to beat an opponent!). She's always game for competition; so feel free to have a competition game with her.
