Many projects have been postponed and it is impossible to predict how the global economy and the price development of oil and gas are going to impact future orders. But Finnish ship-building has a history which tells us something about the ability to cope also in difficult times. One part of the history has been Finnish–Russian ship-building co-operation. After the Second World War, Finns built vessels, also icebreakers for Soviet Union and that was the starting point for the Wärtsilä icebreaker business.
