eriaura Ltd. is specialised in the maritime shipping of industrial products and raw materials, as well as various types of
project-based transportation.
The company started out in 1986, first operating with one
tug. These days, Meriaura has a fleet of ten dry-cargo ships that
carry more than one million tons of cargo each year. The latest
vessel has just started to operate. The vessel is designed especially for safe transportation of ship blocks and other demanding
project cargoes. The vessels shuttle on European maritime-cargo
routes, mainly on the Baltic Sea and the North Sea.
The company has an annual turnover of around 30 million
euros and currently employs approximately 250 people.
Another significant company in the Meriaura Group is Pernotrans Ltd. that offers logistics services for the ship-building industry. Pernotrans was founded in the late 1980s and is based in
Turku at Aker Yards Oy’s shipyard.
Apart from conventional industrial logistics services, the business expertise of Pernotrans Ltd. covers many kinds of transportation projects, plus comprehensive control of the entire logistics
chain – including haulage and on-board services, maintenance
and repairs, specialised maritime transports, material handling,
and waste removal.
The well-known shipping company VG-Shipping Ltd. and
Port of Olkiluoto are also part of the Meriaura Group. ■
