Community Day Supports Team Up for Kids Mission
Community Day on April 19 was a great success . Thank you to all our franchisees who participated ! Together , we supported kids in need at Boys & Girls Clubs in over 980 Buffalo Wild Wings ® communities , including 360 franchise communities . Franchise participation continues to grow , and more than 50 additional locations hosted Community Day events this year . In total , Buffalo Wild Wings donated over $ 779,100 to clubs across the country ! Franchised restaurants donated nearly $ 256,000 !
Our guests continue to support our Team Up for Kids ® mission , and their additional Community Day donations grew by 58 percent for a total of $ 127,200 . In addition to engaging our guests and raising money for a great cause , participating restaurants saw an 8.5 percent increase in SSS over the same Wednesday in 2016 .
Restaurants and clubs worked together to promote Community Day and create fun events and activities throughout the day . Local marketing raised awareness that B-Dubs ® supports its local communities with over 9 million media impressions in digital , social and traditional media , along with our national press release that generated an additional 36 million media impressions .
We ’ re gearing up for a great October fundraiser , and we ’ re excited for our new wristbands design . We hope all franchisees will motivate their restaurant teams to achieve success . Donations provide tools and resources that every club in the country can use to run team sports programs . If franchisees can raise just $ 300,000 , we could reach our goal of $ 1.5 million and increase the number of kids on teams to over 100,000 ! S
