DRH ’ s Jason Curtis Wins Buffalo Wild Wings ’ 2016 FAC Excellence Award

Diversified Restaurant Holdings has announced that its chief operating officer , Jason Curtis , was the recipient of the Buffalo Wild Wings ® 2016 Franchise Advisory Council ( FAC ) Excellence Award .

The FAC is a volunteer group consisting of 12 franchisees , six of whom are elected by their peers and six who are jointly appointed by existing FAC members and corporate . The group engages with BWW corporate on matters of system-wide importance , including long-term strategy , brand development and operational excellence .
“ It is an honor to be recognized in front of my peers , and I can ’ t thank Sally and Judy enough for this award ,” said Curtis . “ This recognition is a testament to the tireless effort all Franchise Advisory Council members put forth to assist the brand in pursuing excellence .”
A number of DRH restaurants were also recognized with annual awards for their outstanding performance in 2016 , including – for the fourth year in a row – the highest daily sales outside of an opening week for DRH ’ s downtown Detroit location .
“ Over the years , DRH and its team members have been recognized with a number of awards from Buffalo Wild Wings ,” said DRH President and CEO David Burke . “ These recent accomplishments are a further testament to the great relationship that we share with our franchisor and our consistent commitment and passion to serving our customers while growing the BWW brand and improving our business operations .” S

Winchester Pipes and Drums Brings St . Patrick ’ s Day Spirit to Buffalo Wild Wings

On St . Patrick ’ s Day , performance group Winchester Pipes and Drums brought some Irish culture to the Winchester , Virginia , Buffalo Wild Wings ® as part of its St . Patrick ’ s Pub Tour , which has been taking place in downtown Winchester for 14 years .

B-Dubs ® has been a part of the action for the last decade , and this year ’ s band included 12 bagpipers and six drummers .
“ They are a great group that come in often , and we work with them on this one event every year ,” said franchisee Jenny Beaudoin of Ganse / Beaudoin Group .
The Winchester Pipes and Drums began their tour at 6:30 p . m ., and traveled to restaurants and bars performing for roughly 20 minutes before moving on to the next location . In addition to BWW , participating businesses included Escutcheon Brewing , Taphouse , Cork Street Tavern , Brewbakers Restaurant and
Piccadilly ’ s Public House .
“ This is an experience that all age groups truly enjoy ,” said Beaudoin . “ We were concerned at first that this would interfere with the March Madness experience . We gave it a try , and the guests and staff loved it .”
To help patrons celebrate , BWW offered Guinness specials throughout the day .
“ Nothing makes you feel like you are actually in the Emerald Isle like the sound of pipes and drums ,” said Erin Sirbaugh , assistant manager for the B-Dubs location . “ It is the holiday event I look forward to all year long !” The nonprofit group does not charge admission , but usually rakes in between $ 1,500 to $ 2,000 per year in tips , donations and sponsorships .
“ This is a nice piece of entertainment that our guests look forward to every year ,” added general manager Jason Woods . “ It really highlights St . Patrick ’ s Day in our restaurant .” S
