Science Meets Art Art is a creative process only limited by imagination. Science is rules and limited by what can be discovered. The two can be seen in conflict with one another: expression versus facts. Emily Lobao, an educator and teacher in Lowell designed challenging crafts that brought color and vibrancy to the Scientifica experience. Using duct tape, paint, wood and origami paper Crewmembers showed their creative abilities. Each day at Scientifica Crewmembers had the opportunity to create. Yet the crafts had a science connection. The geometry of origami, the physics of adhesion, the tensile strength of embroidery floss was all employed in the art of self-expression.
