Glencore Mines in the Hunter Valley available for visits by
Teachers and High School students by Appointment

A number of operating Glencore mine sites are available on
• groups of high school teachers associated with the Earth
Science Teacher Education Program (TESEP) (background to
TESEP attached) (focus on mining and rehabilitation); and
• applicable secondary school class groups (teacher(s) +
students).

A local Glencore geologist put together the information below,
which may assist you in planning visits to some operating mine
sites in the Hunter Valley.
Contact details for the operations are tabled below. Other sites
may also be available on an as needed and as appropriate basis.

Virtual Reality theatrettes are available at two (at least) of the
FYI NSW Coal Services (a NSW government agency) has a
number of very high quality facilities (theatrettes) that provide
Virtual Reality simulations of underground mining environments
for training purposes. These may be of interest to teacher and
school groups.
