And if that is not reason enough for you to attend CONASTA in
Sydney, in addition to the wonderful PD opportunities offered
at CONASTA 67, on the Wednesday of the program we will
be sharing the venue and the program with the International
Conference on Chemistry Education, providing all delegates
with the opportunity to move freely between the two events and
programs.
'Meet the Markers' this year will have extra workshops on creating
school-based assessment for the new HSC. Dr Sofia Kesidou,
Executive Director, Assessment Standards NESA, suggested
to the BEEINS conference participants to use old HSC papers
to prepare the students for the new exam at the end of 2019.
So start mapping opportunities between old papers and new
syllabus and keep coming to MTM – the tips will still be useful.
So lots of action happening this year and I hope you don’t miss
it. Remember contact me if you have any suggestions or ideas to
make STANSW as useful for you as we can.
The STANSW team led by Maree Woods and Brett McKay
working with ASTA has been working tirelessly to bring you the
best national conference they can. This has been a four year long
process.
If you are interested in teaching Extension Science in Term 4,
we will be holding workshops at the Physics and Chemistry
conferences on teaching Science Extension. Come along to help
us make this a great subject for our students and ensure they get
