“
Both scientists and artists attempt
to understand the world through
logic, creativity, intellect, and
curiosity. When the two
disciplines converge, a more
multi-dimensional comprehension
of our world, individual subjective
experiences, and various forms of
art and science emerges. A visual
artist, for instance, can breathe
new life to a biochemist’s research
on DNA replication. A composer
can sonically interpret the poetry
and ecological implications of a
geophysicist’s work. Accordingly,
the relationship between
artists and scientists is
necessary for a complete
portrayal of our existence.
Most important, this relationship
reminds us that science and art
grapple with our reality and the
many ways in which it continues
to change.
