Digital technologies are
changing the world
Ayrshire College hosted an industry-led
Technology Workout for 250 S1 and
S2 female pupils from schools across
Ayrshire.
This was the latest event organised as
part of the college’s #ThisAyrshireGirlCan
campaign to encourage more girls into
science, technology, engineering and
mathematics (STEM).
The Technology Workout was delivered
in partnership with SmartSTEMS, a
Scottish charity established by Stuart
MacDonald, managing director of Seric
Systems.
The pupils and their teachers heard from
inspirational women who have forged
successful careers in STEM including
Wendy Pring, managing director of KCP
Environmental Services in Cumnock, and
Jo Watts from Dufrain Consulting.
Most of the day was about the pupils
taking part in interactive wor
