2 1 3   ZAC LYNDEN-JONES An interview by the pupils of Heol-y-Celyn “I work for Cardiff City Football Foundation. That’s the charity part of the Football Club who work out in the community. That could be in Rhondda Cynon Taf, it could be in the Vale of Glamorgan and we go all the way up to Merthyr, Bridgend and Caerphilly as well. There are lots of different departments. I work for the inclusion department usually with teenagers to try to get them involved in sport, or to get them back into education. I’ve also coached in prisons too. So my job is really varied! Our other departments include   • Disability department who do walking football and wheelchair football • Women and girls department who get girls interested in sport and football • Marketing team who promote everything we do so people know when and how to get involved I’ve worked with the Foundation for 3 years now, and my specific programme that I work on is Premier League Kicks which offers free sport to teenagers 14 – 19 year olds in different areas across South Wales. So we have sites in Cardiff, a couple of sites in Barry, Aberdare, Caerphilly and Hawthorn is our newest one. We’re at Hawthorn High School every Thursday between 5 – 6.30 they get free sport, delivered by Cardiff City, they can just turn up and invite their friends too, learn new skills. Last year in total we worked with 850 young people, and we try and offer sessions every single week only really stopping for Christmas. We want to provide a free service for kids so that they can access tournaments and all the travel for free. “
