Christmas tree with a football Career : In school Bale played loads of different sports . He played rugby , hockey , football and was really good at athletics too . In his P . E . lessons his teacher had make a special rules which banned Bale from using his left foot to give the other pupils a chance ! When he was growing up he always said that Ryan Giggs was his hero .
In 2006 he became the youngest player to sign for Southampton when he was just 16 . In 2007 Bale moved to Tottenham Hotspur . In his final season here he scored 26 goals in 44 matches ! He was also the youngest Welshman to play for his country when he represented Wales in 2008 . Bale ’ s gran is English , so Bale could technically represent England . Thankfully he turned down this opportunity saying that it is an honour to represent Wales .
Since 2013 Bale has played for Real Madrid . He signed a 6 year deal and there are rumors that it was worth £ 80 million !
Name : Elinor Jane Barker Age : 22 Sport : Cycling Place of Birth : Cardiff Career : Elinor grew up in Cardiff and started cycling at the age of 10 to get out of her swimming lessons . She was offered a place at an Olympic cycling development academy but decided to stay in Wales until she had finished studying her A levels in 2013 . After this she moved to Manchester to train in the velodrome .
Elinor competes in the cycling team persuit category . All cyclists in the team must complete the race as fast as they can . The team of cyclists ride so close together that their tyres are only a few milimeteres apart . Elinor has been a champion of her sport since 2008 and this year she won her first gold medal as part of team GB at the 2016 Rio Olympic games .

What do you think ? We , the magazine people , think that whether you are a girl playing football or a boy playing football you should have the chance to earn the same amount of money . Wayne Rooney earns 300k per week where as the average female football player only earns £ 30k per year . This is devastating because there will be girls out there who are incredible footballers and just as good as Bale or Ramsey but they are being held back because of their gender ! It ’ s really unfair . Thousands of fans and businesses support the boys teams so why aren ’ t girls teams given the same opportunities ?
