Sceneazine.com Crimson Countess played in other bands together? We started in January 2011. This is a first band for 3 of us (Kristy, Shoshana, & B). Jen has been in numerous other bands. by John Smithson C rimson Countess is an all female melodic metal band from Greensboro, NC. They started up in Jan of 2011 as four friends just wanting to play music together. They have had some changes in line up recently, but they have gotten lucky enough to fall into place with the right ones. Crimson Countess consists of Shoshana, B, Kristy, Mindy, and Jen. Crimson Countess has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with many National acts including Unsaid Fate, Losing September, The Independents, Nasty Habit, and Your Chance To Die. They also recently opened for Soil & Tantric, and were part of the Queens of Metal Festival in Chicago I asked Crimson Countess to do a little Q & A session so that we could learn more about this awesome band. So here we go. Who are some of you guys influences? Would you say that’s where you get your sound from? Collectively our influences would have to be Evanescence, In This Moment, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Tool & Kittie. Our sound is probably more like a mixture of our influences and how we all come together as a band. So when did you guys start as a band. Has anyone Your band name where did that come from and what’s the reasoning behind it? Our name came from the ‘Blood Countess” , Elizabeth Bathory. She was a notorious serial killer who bathe bathing in the blood of virgin girls made her stay young. Our drummer has always been infatuated with her and came up with the name, Do you guys play shows often? Do you have any upcoming shows? Yes, we do actually. We have Aug 28 at Motorco in Durham. That one is a benefit for the ASPCA. Then August 30 at The Wizard in Hickory with Faces Unturned. September 28, we are doing a live recorded show at The Blind Tiger in Greensboro October 25, we are throwing a Vampire’s Ball at The Somewhere Else Tavern in Greensboro. And November 14, we are playing a Goddesses of Rock show at The Maywood in Raleigh. If someone ask you to describe the band’s sound how would you answer that? Alot of people say hard hitting, aggresive metal. Brutal screams, powerhouse melodic clean vocals, and thrashy guitar lines Do you guys have a favorite place that you like to play? What is it that makes that place your favorite? Yes we do, The Somewhere Else Tavern in Greensboro. Its our ho
