of what John, bassist Scott Kimmell,
drummer Markus Unum and lead
vocalist Web Hulon are portraying.
These guys put a lot into this ep (it
was, for example, mixed in New York
City), and it definitely shows. It is
material that was already ninety percent written by John, with additional
material, (especially Scott) gradually
interspersed to fill out the dark sound
and story. It was a very fun project to
work on in this manner and, according to John, Scott is the kind of player that it is “easy to bounce ideas off
of ”, and the two of them have a very
established connection from years of
working together that allows them
to communicate while writing sans
