them. A great sounding set from each band on a bill is always a sure fire bet!
Where do you see this band in a year or two? Do you guys, as a band have any
goals you want to reach this year?
We hope to be on our 3rd or 4th album and still expanding our reach in regards
to live shows.
Our 2nd album will be out, so we hope to reach even more people this go around.
Also, and this will be ongoing until it happens, to play a show with Sevendust!
If you were asked to describe your band’s sound or who you sound like, what
would you say?
We hear a lot of Killswitch and Sevendust, Dream Theater in the instruments.
We get a lot of Evanescence, Flyleaf, Miranda Sex Garden was mentioned recently
for vocals. We’ll take any of that. I think we are a combo of those things but with
distinctive vocals.
Who would you guys say was the biggest musical or non-musical influence on
each of you? And why?
Joey’s would be Morgan from Sevendust, and Chad Szeliga from Breaking Bemjamin.
Tricia’s would be Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Mariah Carey, Barbara Streisand,
Tracy Bonham, Alanis Morissette, Amy Lee, Lacey Sturm, Maria Brink…All very
powerful and distinctive vocals and ranges.
Randall’s Musical taste would lean more toward heavy with a groove to it… Ratt,
Sevendust, Alice in Chains. His vocals are from the background vocals like Clint
Lowery, jerry Cantrell, Richie Sambora.
Kirt’s influenced with his choices because they felt their music and they made
you feel it too: David Gimore, Jimmy Hendrix, Jeff Beck, George Lynch, Warren DeMarini, Chris DeGarmo
Chad’s big on originality so his influences are Roger Waters, John Paul Jones,
Cliff Burton.
As a band do you guys have a favorite place to play? What makes it your favorite?
The Chop Shop, Amos’s Southend, The Blind Tiger, The Evening Muse. Those
places have great equipment and awesome engineers!
Let’s get everyone’s opinion on this. If someone ask you for advice about being
in a band or about starting one, what would you say? Would you encourage or discourage them?
There was a consensus on this….don’t do it! JOKE! Everyone really needs to be
on the same page on where the commitment level is. When we first signed to our label
we talked about how we would have to do this and is it realistic for us to come up with
that many songs within the time frame allotted. Everyone was a yes…but about two
months into needing everyone to come up with the money our first drummer wanted
to fla
